Life is hectic, and crazy at best, but oh what a joy it is to hear someone call you "mommy" or "daddy". This is just an account of our daily happenings in this crazy thing we call life. No matter what happens in our day, it's always fun to "kidd" around!

Lily Loves NYC

Lily Kate took her first trip to New York on August 18th - 22nd with Mommy, Nini, and Laura. She was such a trooper on the long car ride. She slept, read books, watched Praise Baby DVDs, and talked up a storm! We stopped in Philadelphia for a day and Munchkin got to try her first Philly cheese steak! She smacked her lips with every bite! When we arrived in NYC, we hit the ground running. The first afternoon we saw the World Trade Center Memorial and the wonderful plans that are being made to remember all of those who died. We went in St. Paul's Church, where all of the families of missing people were ministered to. It was so touching to be in such a special place and remembered all of those who sacrificed their lives on 9/11. That night we headed down to Pier 17 and got a breathtaking view of the Hudson River. Lily Kate rode around in the front pack for most of the night and she grinned at everyone she passed on the street! The next day we walked through Times Square, ate lunch at Inside the Park at St. Bart's Cathedral. We toured the church, and then got a personal tour of the city from Paul and Gordon (two guys that work with Nini). They took us to Central Park, Fifth Avenue, the Plaza Hotel.... it was amazing! That night we took a sailboat ride on the Hudson River at sunset. We got to see the Brooklyn and Manhattan brides from the water. The New York skyline and the Statue of Liberty are breathtaking at sunset, and seeing them from the water was amazing! Of course, the last day in the city had to be spent shopping! Lily Kate rode around in her stroller or got carried in the front pack, and she laughed and giggled through the whole trip! It was amazing to see how so many people responded to her! We had the whole subway car laughing one night because she was grinning and talking to everyone! Her first trip to NYC was a success and it certainly won't be her last! What awesome memories we made!
Pooped from a wonderful day of exploring NYC!

When we first got into Manhattan, we toured the September 11th Memorial. Lily Kate slept through most of it because the subway ride knocked her out!
