Kidd'n Around: Sterling Turns 1!

My little man turned one this month! It is crazy to think that my precious little premie is a big one year old now! I had the sign above made for Sterling's birthday! It tells all of his favorites, his stats, and other fun stuff! Sterling is such a bundle of joy, and it was so much fun to celebrate his birthday with him! We woke him up singing on the morning of the 7th, and he bounced and grinned in his crib while we finished "Happy Birthday". We had to go to school on his birthday, since it was a Monday this year, but we made sure to celebrate him at school too! I made him a 1st birthday shirt that he wore to school so everyone would know it was his big day! That night we had a low key dinner at home... we cooked some of his favorite foods, Macaroni and Hot Dogs! Then, Nini and Pop came over and we sang and watched him eat his cake. At first, he wasn't too sure what to do with it, but once he got a good taste of the icing, he dug in! I think he was definitely a fan! Nini brought him balloons for his birthday, and watching him with them was hilarious! He thought they were the greatest thing... he hung onto the strings for dear life and bounced them all around! If you tried to take them away from him, he cried like you had just broken his heart! We gave Sterling a ride-on airplane, and a Red Flyer tricycle for his birthday, and Lily Kate picked out an elephant toy to give him. She was so excited for him to open her present! It was sweet to watch her excitement for him. I could just cry looking at this sweet boy and thinking on what a blessing he is to our family. Oh how we prayed for him before he was conceived, and oh, what a joy he is in our lives!
