Lily Kate had been asking me for some time if we could set up a lemonade stand in front of our house. She had seen a few different kids sitting out by the road, and she was dying to give it a try herself! We bought all of our goodies, and decided to set up her stand one afternoon while brother was taking a good nap. She wanted to make a sign to hang on her stand that had her name on it! Lily Kate helped mix the lemonade, and even decided to bring out a plate of cookies to sell too! The lemonade and cookies were 25 cents a piece. We were out there for a good little bit before anyone drove by... she just passed the time by sampling her goods while she waited for customers! Of course, her daddy had to come by for an afternoon snack too! In all, she probably had about 5 customers in the hour and a half we were out there, but she didn't care! She was elated to be out there! About halfway through our time outside, Lily Kate decided that she needed to be dressed up like a princess to sell cookies and lemonade! She ran inside and came back out dressed from head to toe in princess attire! I don't think it drummed up any more business... but she looked adorable! What a fun memory I will treasure!
