Sterling was 5 months old on March 7th.... time flies! This little man brings more joy than I can ever put into words. The 5th month has been a big one for our little man! We FINALLY reached the 12 pound mark this month! He had to go back two weeks after his 4 month check for shots because he had been sick when we went at 4 months. When they weighed him (2/21) he was exactly 12 pounds. He doesn't get a check-up at 5 months but I'm guessing he has gained quite a bit this month!
Sterling has started trying to sit up on his own... he still has to have support behind him because he falls over after a few seconds, but he is constantly grunting trying to sit upright when he is in his swing or bouncy seat.
We have quite the little smiley face on our hands! He has such a personality (like his sister) and he just grins with his whole face. Sterling also got a habit from his daddy... he laughs when he toots! I guess its a man thing!
Sleep has been interesting this month! He has been sleeping through the night for over a month now, and usually sleeps 8 to 7:30ish. But here recently, he has been waking up in the night crying. We think it's teething, because the minute you put the passy back in, he goes right back to sleep. It could be a growth spurt too! It's weird because he will go 4 or 5 nights in a row sleeping straight through, and then have one random off night. I still can't complain though! Naps are a bit more interesting. Since he is in school with me 4 days a week, he naps in his class in the mornings. Most days we get a good hour and a half out of him, but when it gets loud in class sometimes it wakes him up. Usually he takes another nap when we get home in the afternoons. Car rides are tricky too... the car knocks him out, but he wakes up the minute you get somewhere! Unfortunately, being a younger sibling means he spends a bit more time in the car than we'd like!
Bath time is SO MUCH FUN! He usually takes baths with Lily Kate, and he LOVES IT! He grins and kicks/splashes water the whole time!
Sterling thinks sitting up is so cool... and he has also grown very attached to his lovies here recently. I think it's because he wants everything in his mouth! Doesn't matter if it's a toy or a lovie, it's going straight for the mouth!
It's so fun to watch him hold toys now and notice things! He loves bright colors and toys that make noise! He has a death grip on them, but unfortunately he gets very frustrated when he drops one and can't get it back!
We are using the exercauser some now too! He likes it ok, but would rather be laying on the floor so he can wiggle!
Sterling's newest trick is ROLLING! On March 16th, he rolled over for the first time from back to front! Then, the very next day he rolled over from front to back! It's so much fun to watch him roll.... and he thinks it's pretty hillarious too! He can get in some of the weirdest positions!
We also started rice cereal this month! He wasn't too sure about it at first, but now he LOVES it! He squeals reall loud at me if I don't get that spoon in his mouth fast enough! And it's a pretty messy job too.... it's usually better to feed him naked if at all possible, because odds are it's going to end up EVERYWHERE!
It's crazy how much Sterling has changed in a matter of weeks. We sure do love this little guy!
